After retiring from the medical field, Barbara spotted an ad for wildlife rehabilitation training class and decided she was ready for something new. Her venture into the world of wildlife rehabilitation ended up being the best decision she could've made. Barbara absolutely loves working with orphaned baby wildlife and helping them on the bittersweet journey to their release back into the wild. She cares for opossums and squirrels, up to 200 each year. When she's not helping the wild babies, she does what she has done for many years prior to wildlife rehabbing -- fostering dogs and transporting dogs for a local rescue . If there's an animal in need, she'll do whatever she can to help.
