Becky has always loved animals and is medically savvy. She says that as a paraplegic, she has been lucky enough to have the extra time available to spend on caring for wildlife. Becky approached a state DNR officer with her desire to rehabilitate animals and he put her in contact with the Wildlife Lodge and Clinic. She eagerly came on board the all volunteer, non-profit organization and learned everything she could about caring for wildlife. Becky is now the lead "on-call" coordinator. As the 1st point of contact regarding a new patient intake, her primary focus is getting the animal reunited with its parents, educating the "finder" or bringing the animal into care. She then assigns patients to the rehabilitator best suited to care for them or they come directly in to her care. There are many times when Becky has multiple, infant species and she is in desperate need of incubators to care for them. In addition to helping for birds & raptors, raccoons, squirrels, opossum, fox, game birds, bunnies, mice, turtles, snakes, bobcats, deer and other critters who come her way (like the wild turkey in the photo) Becky is devoted to wildlife education which plays a tremendous role in the safe and healthy future of all animals.
