Carol has always loved animals and feels a responsibility to protect animals since they can’t speak for themselves. She began volunteering at a wildlife rehabilitation center then was offered a job there a few months later. Two years later she decided to go out on her own. She stared Hope 4 Wildlife Rehabilitation with another home care rehabber and they hope to add more rehabbers to their network so they can share supplies, advice and hopefully one day donations. They care for squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, rabbits, prairie dogs, marmots and foxes. Carol herself rehabilitates up to 30 babies each year and most are raccoons. She’s happy to do her small part to keep Colorado wild. For Carol, there’s nothing more rewarding than raising a baby animal and seeing it released back into the wild where it was meant to be.
