Casey has always loved animals, even as a child. Her first "rescue" was an injured songbird when she was about 6 years old. Her mother saw her passion and found a local rehab center in their area, Walden's Puddle Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Center. Twenty years later Casey moved back to Tennessee and began volunteering at that very same place and was hired on as an animal care technician shortly thereafter. Walden's Puddle cared for over 3,800 animals last year and due to increasing numbers, most neonate small mammals are referred to homecare rehabbers. From the day Casey began volunteering, baby/neonate squirrels touched her heart. She wants to be able to continue to work with these angels at home, thus her need for an incubator. Casey loves the intensive care that is required and the joy of seeing them released back to the wild where they belong.
