$475 of $475 raised

Cheryl started raising baby birds that had fallen out of their nests in her barn. Birds were her only wildlife rehabbing experience until one of her students brought her an orphaned black squirrel in need of help. Since Cheryl had never raised a baby squirrel before, she contacted a local rehabilitator who trained her for several years until she obtained her own license. Cheryl now cares for injured and orphaned squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, groundhogs, foxes, deer, and songbirds. Every year she receives new and different animals and birds that she learns from, and in doing so, she can increase the number of wildlife that she is able to care for. When Cheryl's hands aren't full of babies in need of her help, she's at work combining her love for nature, children and wildlife in a new program called Kids4Nature. The program aims to inspire and encourage both respect for nature and the wildlife within in it by teaching the children how to be stewards of the earth, trees and wildlife.
