Since Gabriela was a little girl, she has had a fascination with wild rabbits and hares. From toddler to teen years, her parents would take her along on remote backcountry excursions where her greatest joy was in finding bunny scat. Who can resist the cuteness of a 'cocoa puff'? Of course, where there are prey species, there are predators. As Gabriela grew older, her fascination grew to include raccoons, coyotes and wolves. She spent over two decades in owner education and rescue of wolf-dog crosses. During this time, she secured her Registered Veterinary Technician license and went to work with beloved pets in Vet Hospitals, as a nurse and in management. In 2012, she had an opportunity to switch gears and work for Gold Country Wildlife Rescue as their Intake Center Coordinator and came full circle to find her niche in the volunteer home rehabilitation of wild rabbits and hares. An incubator will help her take care of the most fragile orphaned babies.
