Heather grew up in a small North Florida town on 10 remote acres where there were always injured and orphaned little ones. At the time, there weren't any wildlife rehabilitation organizations in the area but the town veterinarian trained Heather the best she knew how to take care of these babies. It wasn't until about 2009 when Heather met her current mentor and was brought up to date on what current rehabbing looks like. She has been rehabbing ever since, caring for squirrels, opossums, flying squirrels and rabbits, as well as handling training for her wonderful organization. When Heather's hands aren't full of injured and orphaned wildlife babies, she also takes in orphaned potbelly pigs and works with 3 other rescues to find them lifelong loving homes.
