Jennifer has always had a passion for animals since she was a kid. She wanted to grow up to be a veterinarian and even though things did not work out in that way, she has always worked with animals in one way or another. She started volunteering at a bird rehabilitation center while she was a zookeeper in Boise, Idaho. When she returned to her hometown of Auburn, Maine, she came across an injured bird and brought it to the vet. The vet asked if Jennifer was a new wildlife rehabilitator and let her know that caring for wildlife without being licensed with the State is illegal. Jennifer took the steps to obtain her own license and now cares for injured and orphaned bats, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, skunks, porcupines, deer, groundhogs, and birds. In addition to caring for animals, she's also doing all she can to teach her kids that wild animals are not pets, and that her role is to give them a second chance at being a healthy wild animal once again.
