When Joy found an injured baby squirrel years ago and tried to get the little guy some help, she found out about wildlife rehabilitation. Animals were always a huge part of her life and when this happened, she knew it was meant to be. Joy began training under a wildlife rehabilitator in her area and learned all she could. 12 years later she has her own volunteer wildlife rehabilitation organization that cares for injured and orphaned birds, small mammals and many other critters who need a helping hand. She's currently caring for "Gussie" the sweet little injured porcupine who was rescued by the good folks at Happily Ever Esther. When Joy's hands aren't full of injured animals like Gussie or orphaned babies, she conducts educational programs to teach about the importance of wildlife.
