Karen's grandfather taught her to love and respect all wildlife from a young age. Even at just 2 years old, squirrels seemed to follow her around. Years later during hurricane Isabel, Karen found an orphaned baby squirrel and cared for it until she could get it to a rehabber. When that rehabber told Karen that she must be a squirrel whisperer, her path was clear. More than a decade later, Karen now specializes in caring for the tiniest newborn squirrels (pinkies) who will benefit tremendously from an incubator. Karen says that squirrels are her passion and that the more they need, the more she wants to give.
