Kathy's first rehab subjects were pinkie mice when she was 8 years old. After they were weaned, she released them back to the wild and ever since then, she has rehabbed animals whenever the opportunity arose. Kathy became licensed in Ohio several years ago and now cares for a wide variety of orphaned and injured native wildlife including raccoons, squirrels (gray, fox, red, piney, flying), chipmunks, opossums, mink, deermice, foxes, mourning doves, robins, cardinals, chickadees, wrens, blue jays and song sparrows. She has a team of sub-permittees who she is helping to train so more animals can receive care. Kathy says it's rewarding to get the privilege of giving Mother Nature back her animals so they can live a free and wild life.
