Maureen has always had a passion for watching birds, caring for birds, educating people about wildlife and making a difference. She began volunteering in wildlife rehabilitation almost 7 years ago and now cares for all kinds of birds -- songbirds, raptors and waterfowl. As part of the Wildlife Care Alliance group of volunteer home care rehabbers, Maureen only rehabilitates wild birds and takes in over 100 birds each year, caring for them until they’re strong enough to make it on their own. Her favorite part of rehabbing is the joy of returning a bird to the wild. Maureen’s incubator will be used to save baby birds who often arrive without feathers and need to be kept warm to survive.
