After Pam was unable to find help for 5 orphaned baby raccoons, she decided to save them herself. Ten years later she cares for about 300 animals each year - foxes, woodchucks, possums, squirrels, reptiles and waterfowl, but mostly fawns and raccoons. She's the only rehabber in her county who takes in raccoons, and one of only five in the state of Michigan. Even when it's not baby season, she cares for 100 or more animals at a time and, despite the hours, she says she's blessed to be able to do this work. For the past two years she has been praying for an incubator and talking to hospitals trying to acquire one. She knows it will help her save so many more fragile newborns.
