Shannon used to unofficially rehab squirrels and chipmunks growing up. Two years ago she found out about a desperate need in her area for additional bat rehabbers due to some moving away. Shannon was already rabies vaccinated due to her job (running a cat/dog boarding facility) and wanted to help out. She immediately started training and fell in love working with bats. Shannon plans to rehab opossums and skunks in the future as well but this year, as she will be the only bat pup rehabber in Northern VA, she will be solely focusing on bat pups. Between her job and all of her volunteer work, Shannon's life revolves around helping animals in need. Although she once owned a farm she had to sell it to care for her grandmother. Her goal is to get back there one day -- and help as many animals as she can along the way.
