When Susan was a child her father was a rehabber who specialized in saving bears and never turned away an animal in need. He taught Susan all about wildlife and also instilled in her a compassion for all species. When her father passed away, Susan took over the care of the animals and continued to expand the species of animals they could help. She has been rehabbing now for over 30 years - - squirrels, possums, chipmunks, rabbits, weasels, bears, deer, fox, coyotes, groundhogs and more. Susan's husband also became a licensed rehabilitator and together they have helped thousands of animals. Susan finds it so rewarding to see animals survive then be released and thrive after a little help in the beginning.
