Susan R.

$1 of $1 raised

Susan has fostered and rescued dogs for years and always had a love of animals. She met Karen Bailey, founder of Kentucky Wildlife Center (KWC), at a restaurant in Georgetown, Kentucky and she was wearing the scrub you see in this picture. Susan was curious so she asked her about it. Karen offered Susan a tour of the wildlife center and two weeks later she had three baby raccoon to care for. Susan has been hooked ever since that first year, caring for rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, mink, mice, skunks, groundhogs, river otters, voles, chipmunks, fox, coyote, turtles, deer, and bobcats. She has recently taken the director position at KWC as a non-paid position to help with fundraising and animal care. Susan has also transferred her knowledge of dog rescue to coyote rehabilitation and has successfully released three litters of pups back into the wild. Facilities like KWC that take in multiple species often have to make a difficult choice about which babies can go in an incubator. An additional incubator will be put to use immediately saving the most fragile babies.
