Throughout Vicki's entire life, she has been involved in rescuing anything that needed help. After having to retire from her nursing career due to numerous back surgeries, she found some orphaned bunnies in her yard and needed to get them the care they needed. She met a woman from Wildlife Clinic and Lodge and was truly amazed to find someone who was just as passionate about rescuing. The rehabber agreed to act as mentor and before long, Vicki turned into a full time volunteer with the organization, helping to care for squirrels, birds, raccoons, opossums and rabbits. Wildlife rescue has been incredibly rewarding and gives her the opportunity to help so many helpless babies and injured animals. Vicki says it's not a hobby for her. It's who she is. With an incubator, her babies and the injured would be able to have the consistent heat source that they so desperately need.
