I didn’t plan on becoming a wildlife rehabber — it just kind of found me.

It started with finding injured birds that had been hurt by people. I couldn’t just leave them there. I didn’t really know what to do at first, but I knew I had to try to help. So I stepped in and found a rehabber who could take them, and instead of just dropping them off and walking away, I stayed.

I started learning from them — asking questions, helping where I could, watching everything. The more I saw, the more it stuck with me. The injuries, the suffering… but also the healing, the second chances.

At some point, it stopped being something I just did once in a while. It became something I cared deeply about — something I couldn’t ignore anymore.

Once you’ve held something that fragile in your hands, once you’ve seen what they go through, you can’t just turn your back.

That’s how I became a rehabber.

Because when something is hurt and no one else steps in… I will.
