So happy that the wild babies in your area have you!

This incubator campaign is for the TLC-40 Eco Series II Baby Warm model

$230 of $640 raised

I have always enjoyed nature and wildlife, and as a Nature photographer I spend a fair amount of time in the wild. I started thinking about becoming a licensed rehabber because I have had many occasions where I have run into wildlife in distress. I am in school for Wildlife Biology and Conservation, and I interviewed a licensed Rehabilitator for a class I was taking. During the interview, I realized that taking care of wildlife was what I wanted to do, especially since I am close to retiring and would love to use my time doing something that is important to me.
A friend of mine knew this, and she thought of me when she saw someone post about a group of rehabbers that were holding a Zoom conference for people interested in becoming rehabbers. I joined the conference and connected with a great group of rehabbers, whose guidance and education has been paramount to me getting licensed and starting my rehab work. I also met a local rehabber, Kathy, who lives only minutes from me, and she invited me to a luncheon of rehabbers in my area, where I made yet another valuable network of like-minded people. Kathy offered to give me two of her orphaned squirrels to start my journey with rehabbing, and I am thoroughly in love with what I am doing.
Having an incubator will make it much easier to care for orphaned squirrels, bunnies, and birds. I can provide warmth with a heating pad, but an incubator will allow me to control the specific temperature (which can vary per species) and also control the humidity level. This incubator will be out to good use as I give something back to nature by helping injured and orphaned animals make a recovery and return to nature. This means a lot to me and your donation, no matter the amount, will help me reach my goal and do this important work in my retirement.
