How has your first Baby Warm incubator helped you?
More ways then I ever anticipated!! As expected I use my incubator frequently, to support mammals while I wait to get them to the right rehabber, to support young birds who can not thermoregulate, to support adult songbirds who have been injured and are shocky and to support nestling raptors and waterbirds who have no momma to keep them warm. I have been amazed at how helpful it is for supporting shocky adult raptors while we stabilize them but also use my incubator to keep food and fluid warmed … as well as towels and clothes that I am using on the birds.
How will this additional incubator help?
NNWR does a lot of transporting of animals from the vet to the rehabber, from the citizen to the rehabber and from rehabber to rehabber. Being able to keep them in a consistent environment does a lot to prevent shock and reduce stress for both the animal and the transporter!!? Stress reduction saves lives!!!
