I got into wildlife rehabilitation because I couldn’t walk away when animals were hurt or displaced by human activity. I’ve always felt a deep connection to animals, but rehabbing taught me that compassion alone isn’t enough—you have to learn how to help responsibly and correctly.
I began by seeking education and mentorship, learning the science, ethics, and commitment required to give wildlife a real chance at survival. What truly anchored me in this work was seeing the change: frightened, injured animals arriving at their most vulnerable and later returning to the wild strong and self-sufficient. Being part of that journey is incredibly humbling.
I rehab because it allows me to care deeply while also giving back—supporting wildlife, educating my community, and helping repair the impact humans have on the natural world. This work isn’t just something I do; it’s a responsibility I take to heart.
