How did I get into rehabbing? Well, it started with a semi-sedated full-grown raccoon in my passenger seat secured in nothing but a cardboard box after being hit by a car. My now mentor thought I had lost my mind, but then again you have to be kinda crazy to do this, right? I started helping with cleaning cages and learning how to feed various small mammals. I received my sub-permit and completed courses through the IWRC, and started taking on my own squirrels. It's been 5 years and I still love what I do. Why did I pursue rehabbing? It just sorta happened. Like it was fate. Throught rehabbing, I found what I love, and that's working with animals.
