I was raising 2 baby raccoons that needed constant care. They were found underneath some rubble of a house that had been town down by the city. The finder reached out to me for help knowing that I had successfully rehabbed mammals in the past while living in Arkansas. I instructed him on how to try and reunite the babies with their mom. However, she did not return and storms were in the forecast for later that evening. I immediately went to get them knowing they would need help being they were only a few days old, because their umbilical cords were still attached. That's when I found out that you had to have a license to legally rehabilitate mammals in the state of Mississippi. Therefore, I reached out to Wild Again in Mississippi (WAIM) and started taking the classes that were necessary in order to be a sub-permitted mammal rehabber. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to work with WAIM for the last 4 years and plan to continue for many years to come. Since my time with WAIM, I have now successfully rehabilitated and released Raccoons, Squirrels, Skunks, and Eastern Cottontail Rabbits. Having a Baby Warm Incubator will provide me the opportunity to more than double the amount of delicate infants that I care for yearly.
