My journey into animal rehabilitation has been a lifelong calling. Before becoming a mother, I worked in dog rehabilitation, helping injured and neglected animals heal and find a second chance. As a Marine spouse, life brought frequent moves and new adventures, and when my children were young, I chose to homeschool them, making them my first priority for many years.

As my children grew older and became more independent, I found myself drawn back to the work that had always been close to my heart. I became a veterinary assistant and began volunteering at a local wildlife sanctuary. What started as one day a week quickly became several days a week, and before long I was volunteering daily for more than a year. During that time, I learned not only the skills required to rehabilitate wildlife, but also the incredible dedication and compassion it takes to give these animals a second chance.

That experience inspired me to establish Eirwood Wildlife and Ferret Rehabilitation. Every orphaned squirrel, injured rabbit, fragile opossum, and rescued ferret that comes through our doors deserves the very best care possible. Our mission is simple: healing one life at a time.

Today, we need your help to take that care to the next level. We are raising funds for a specialized humidity-controlled incubator designed for neonatal opossums. These tiny marsupials spend their earliest weeks safely tucked inside their mother’s pouch, where warmth and humidity are carefully maintained. When they lose their mother, recreating those conditions can mean the difference between life and death. A humidity-controlled incubator will provide a stable environment that helps prevent dehydration, supports healthy development, reduces stress, and greatly improves their chances of survival.
