Krista loves animals of all kinds, including wildlife. It saddens her how much of a negative impact humans have had on wild species, so she wanted to give back. It started with finding injured animals as a child and doing her best to care for them. As an adult, she found a pigeon with a broken wing, caught it, then brought the patient to a wildlife rehabilitation facility. Although that bird could not be saved, Krista was impressed with the compassion they showed. She brought them other animals with happier endings, and then became a volunteer two years ago. She has learned to care for injured birds and a young weasel, and looks forward to helping so many more animals in the coming years. An incubator will be a huge help in saving the most fragile babies.
