I spent most of my professional career working with exotic animals in an education and zoo setting. After leaving my position, I became a wildlife rehabilitator in order to help animals in the local environment, while still supporting conservation. I enjoy connecting with people in my community and helping empower them to care about the wildlife they share their backyards with. I give them tools to help wildlife thrive - whether it be through re-nesting, re-uniting, or giving tips to help homeowners become more responsible stewards of nature. When those attempts to keep wildlife orphans with their mothers is not an option and rehabilitation is the only choice, I am invested in providing the best care possible to the animals while they are in my rehab space. I love the daily interaction with wildlife babies - caring for them, feeding them, observing them - but also look forward to the day when they return to the wild. It's been the greatest joy to return an animal to the wild and allow it to exist (and hopefully to thrive!) in its role in the ecosystem.
