Just 17 years old, Noah is the youngest state permitted wildlife rehabber in Virginia. Several years ago when he found an orphaned grackle and took it to a local wildlife rehabber, Noah began volunteering at the wildlife refuge 3-4 days per week. He now holds his own permit and rescues wildlife on his own, caring for as many as 140 orphaned babies a year, including cottontails, squirrels, opossums, birds, raccoons, bats, ducks, geese, waterbirds and seabirds. Noah plans on going to college to become a veterinarian technician to continue his work with wildlife. If we’re able to fund an incubator for him, it will be used for baby birds and small mammals who need to be maintained at a set temperature.
