This incubator campaign was for the TLC-40 Zoologica Series II model

$835 of $835 raised

I spent an entire day trying to find a rehabber who could take a head trauma squirrel. The stress of not being able to find anyone who could take her was monumental. My heart was aching for this squirrel. All I could do for her was keep her warm and in a dark quiet space. When I finally found a kind human who didn’t have time to help me but went out of her way to let me bring this squirrel to her late at night, I KNEW this had happened for a reason. The wonderful woman who helped me is who I am now sub permitted under. There are currently no licensed wildlife rehabbers in my entire county - talk about a reason to do this!!

My first day of volunteering began by me picking up a litter of opossums (mom was hit by a car and the joeys were in her pouch) and being late to my first shift. This litter went home with me and was in my care until release. That litter will always have a very special place in my heart. Watching them grow and thrive brought me more joy than even imaginable.

I may not leave a huge mark on this world but I fully intend to give as many wild animals a second chance at life as possible. I recently picked up a litter of embryonic opossums weighing between 5-7 grams. While I have a small incubator, I do not have one with humidity controls. Opossum joeys need high humidity to thrive. This incubator will hopefully temporarily house MANY animals who desperately need human intervention to return to the wild!
