It all started about 3 years ago with a pair of newly hatched doves my husband brought to me. They had been transported in a boat from Florida to North Carolina. Mom unfortunately didn’t make the trip. I tried caring for them on my own and quickly realized these babies needed the care of a licensed rehabber who knew the right things to do. I dropped them off at Carolina Wildlife Sanctuary where I quickly became a volunteer and found a calling that feeds my soul. It’s not always easy but it is always special.
