It all started with a injured small bird that Vickie wanted to get help for. She knew she was not able to give it the care it needed so she asked a friend if he knew any wildlife rehabbers. He sent Vickie and the songbird to an organization that specialized in that field. Several weeks later she started volunteering at that same place -- that was about 4 years ago. As the years went by, Vickie's confidence grew and she realized that this was the path she wanted to take. Wildlife Rehabbers have an extraordinary teaching and support system. Vickie says that they are some of the most selfless and dedicated people she has ever met. She decided it was time to step up and get serious about taking care of animals in need, and now she's doing exactly that.
